TBS Wins Award Temple Beth Shalom in Needham will receive the "Community Innovator Award" from Jewish Vocational Services at their Spring Gala for its work helping community members access tools and support during this difficult economic time. From the workshops co-led by Rabbi Jay Perlman and June Atkind, to the TBS Cares Group founded by Richard Atkind, Morris Porter and Ken Spigle, and the Temple hosting the Career Moves at JVS Needham Job Club, people have been encouraged to come together to share stories, job leads and job search suggestions.
JVS will also honor two exceptional clients who have overcome considerable obstacles in order to achieve great success--the first is a graduate of the Burton and Gloria Rose Career Development Program and the second is a participant from the JVS/Combined Jewish Philanthropies Recession Response Program. Glenn Stern from Temple Beth Shalom will be one of these recipients.
JVS will host its 6th Annual Spring Gala on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the InterContinental Hotel, Boston.
